CONSORTIUM FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF RIGHTS FOR KEY AFFECTED POPULATIONS (CARKAP)
PREAMBLE:
Key Affected Populations and their communities have been functioning as small community-based Support Groups in Sierra Leone providing community-based health services delivery to meet the needs of their affected people who are made vulnerable by conditions such as HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
These Support Groups have grown into Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Networks, and Associations, and now emerged as a Consortium called “Consortium for the Advancement of Rights for Key Affected Populations (CARKAP)”. These Organizations saw the need to come together to speak with a unified voice on issues affecting their lives and welfare specifically, principles and processes for their involvement in the National Health Recovery Plan and the Global Fund strategy which support the promotion and protection of Community Rights and Gender equity through the Community System Strengthening (CSS).
